Ömer Özyer, born in Fethiye in 1988, completed his high school education at Istanbul Eyüboğlu College and then graduated from Koç University Faculty of Administrative and Economic Sciences with a degree in Business Administration. Throughout his educational journey, he focused on finance and tourism business management. Özyer started his professional career in 2012 at the family company Metehan Denizcilik A.Ş. Following that, in 2015, he took on active roles in the tourism activities of Lykia Tourism Inc. and Melis Hotel Management Inc. During the 5-year renovation project of a 120-year-old palace in Budapest, Hungary, which was the company’s first international investment, Özyer assumed various responsibilities at different levels. He transferred his experience in managing large-scale international tourism projects to domestic company investments. In addition to his role as a Board Member of Melden Group, he concurrently oversees the installation and operation of sustainable, natural resource-based renewable energy facilities and engages in start-up projects. From 2019 to 2021, Ömer Özyer served as a member of the DEIK Hungary Management and Executive Board and actively contributed to tourism efforts between Turkey and Hungary in the Turkey-Hungary Business Council. He is married and he demonstrates a high level of proficiency in English.
